LP SmartSide has a longer 50-year warranty (vs. Hardie’s 30), outperforms fiber cement in third-party hail impact testing, weighs significantly less, and is a carbon-negative product. Alternatively, LP SmartSide is available pre-primed and ready to accept any custom paint color. Unlike real cedar or unfinished wood siding, LP SmartSide will not need to be repainted every 3–5 years when installed with ExpertFinish.
The LP SmartSide 5/50 limited warranty covers manufacturing defects, hail damage up to 1.75 inches in diameter, significant color fading (on ExpertFinish products), and substrate failure. For the first 5 years, the warranty covers full replacement labor and materials. After year 5, coverage is prorated through year 50. The warranty is transferable to future homeowners.
